Our founder Ebele Tate will be in conversation with Primetime Emmy nominated sound designer Chad Orororo (The Tinder Swindler), BAFTA nominated composer Adiescar Chase (Heartstopper) and rising music supervisor Keana Bernard (Topboy), discussing how they approach the craft, collaborating and their journey into the industry.

CHAD ORORORO // SOUND DESIGN

Chad Orororo (a proud south-east Londoner) is a Primetime Emmy nominated and award-winning sound designer who has worked on a string of high-end productions, including Venture Land’s, ‘The Deepest Breath’, Wes Anderson’s most recent Netflix production, ‘The Swan’ and ‘LAHAI’ a visual short by Mercury Prize winning artist Sampha. Past projects also include Misan Harriman’s Oscar nominated ‘There After’, BAFTA award winning ‘The Tinder Swindler’ and the acclaimed Netflix docuseries ‘Don’t F*** With Cats’. He was the winner of the ‘Best Sound Design Award’ at the Music + Sound Awards UK for the documentary feature film ‘Serendipity’ and simultaneously won the Royal Television Society Award for ‘Sound: Entertainment & Non-Drama’ with Channel 4’s ‘Married to a Paedophile’. In recent years has Chad made the move into scripted feature films such as Daisy-May Hudson’s debut ‘Lollipop’, Paris Zarcilla’s debut ‘Raging Grace’ and Steve Mcqueen's latest feature ‘Blitz’. 

With eight years experience specialising in post-production sound at Molinare, Chad worked his way up from assistant re-recording mixer, to now freelancing as a sound effects editor/designer. Combining his love and enthusiasm for sound post production with his vivid imagination of story-telling is an integral part to his creative process, all of which rooting from his Nigerian-Grenadian heritage.

ADIESCAR CHASE // MUSIC COMPOSITION

Adiescar Chase has emerged as an exciting and distinctive composer and multi-instrumentalist working across a diverse range of projects, from television drama and film, to video games and animation. Composing in a variety of contemporary musical styles, Adiescar brings a fresh and unique approach to her work. She recently received a BAFTA Craft Awards nomination for ‘Best Original Music: Fiction’ for her score to the Netflix series ‘Heartstopper’ (produced by See-Saw Films). Adiescar’s other recent projects include the new 'Waterloo Road' drama series, which returned to the BBC in 2023, and BBC documentary 'Sarah Everard: The Search for Justice'. Further works include the Channel 4 drama 'Consent', BBC documentary 'Tommy Jessop Goes To Hollywood', and a collaboration with the legendary electronic artist Jean-Michel Jarre on his latest album.

After graduating with a first class BMus (Hons) degree in composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2017, Adiescar went on to study for a Masters in Composition for Film and Television at the National Film & Television School graduating in 2021.

KEANA BERNARD // MUSIC SUPERVISION

Keana Bernard is a rising star in the world of music supervision. Her career kicked off when she accepted an offer to work on season four of the hit TV show ‘Top Boy’ and she stamped her mark on the show's soundtrack by placing ‘BTD’ by South London producer Emil featuring rapper Knucks, who shortly after the show aired went on to score his first Top 3 UK album and Keana was rehired as assistant music supervisor for the season five finale. Showing her talents shine brightly across both TV and Film, Keana also assisted on the music supervision for box-office hit ‘Ticket to Paradise’ starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, placing the laid-back Balinese track, ‘O La La’ by Koes Plus Brothers. 

Building on these successes Keana recently worked on the upcoming twelve-part Disney Plus series, ‘A Thousand Blows’, written by Stephen Knight, starring Stephen Graham. Keana continues to make her mark as a music supervisor and is one to watch in British Film & TV.
