EBELE TATE

Founder & CEO // Writer-Director Producer // Changemaker Creative Entrepreneur - Film & TV

BAFTA Member | BIFA Voter |  RSA Fellow | BFI Film Academy Mentor | Channel 4 Scholar

I’m an award-winning writer-director with a calling to tell bold, character-driven, female-centred stories that challenge perspectives, subvert the status quo, and bend genre conventions. My work explores themes of identity, class, race, and culture, blending cinematic storytelling with a deeply personal lens.

As the Founder and CEO of G.O.A.T Film Club, I’m building a global community that champions underrepresented filmmaking talent and fosters diverse audiences. Through screenings, panel discussions, workshops, industry networking, and editorial content, G.O.A.T is more than a film club—it’s a movement for change, dedicated to shifting culture and creating opportunities for authentic storytelling.

My journey into filmmaking was anything but traditional. I spent over a decade producing commercials for brands like Vogue, Google, Huawei, Xbox, and Unilever, mastering the art of high-impact storytelling across live-action, animation, and photography. That foundation in advertising honed my ability to craft compelling narratives, lead large-scale productions, and deliver creative excellence under pressure—skills I now bring to film and television.

A Channel 4 scholarship recipient and graduate of both the National Film and Television School and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, my work has screened at BAFTA- and Oscar-qualifying festivals. I’ve been honoured with the Film London ‘London Calling’ grant and recently trained with HBO’s House of the Dragon Director’s Shadowing Program, refining my craft in high-end TV production.

I’m currently developing a slate of film and TV projects, having recently completed the Black Business Residency at Somerset House, a transformative program supporting Black-led creative enterprises.
